James Orr Heliski offers a choice of accommodation options for our guests heliskiing in Alagna for our clients depending on the size and type of group:
Tre Alberi Liberi
Owned by Roberto Valzer, one of our ski guides, the Tre Alberi Liberi is a family-run boutique hotel that can accommodate up to 16 guests.
It’s located on the edge of Alagna, in a small hamlet. There’s no need to be concerned about getting to and from the property as we arrange private minibus transfers which whisk you to the lift in much the same time as it takes to walk there from the centre of town.
The property has six bedrooms: a double on the ground floor; a large twin bedroom on the first floor; and on the top floor an interconnecting twin and single and two double rooms. There is also a small 82 sqm apartment with two twin bedrooms and its own private balcony with small kitchen/dining room area, suitable for a group of four people.
All these rooms are unique as the Tre Alberi Liberi has been in the Valzer family for generations. It’s also furnished to an excellent standard. All rooms are equipped with private bathroom, satellite TV, safe, wifi connection, minibar, hairdryer. You can expect an open log fire in the living room, already toasty warm by breakfast.
And at the end of the day you can relax your aching legs in the lovely spa area or while enjoying views of the Monterosa range from the outdoor hot tub.

Hotel Cristallo
For our group trips – such as our heliski trips hosted by Chemmy Alcott and Graham Bell – when we have larger parties, our guests stay in the family-owned Hotel Cristallo.
The hotel was built in 1932 and is in the centre of Alagna opposite the 16th century church of San Giovanni Battista.
It’s a well-appointed four-star hotel offering a choice of elegantly furnished double and twin rooms, with an excellent restaurant and a popular bar for sharing your exploits from the day’s heliskiing.
The Hotel Cristallo is a short 300m walk from the main Alagna-Pianalunga gondola, which is where we meet our guides every day before taking the lift onto the mountain. This is also where the hire shop is based.
