Ski Alaska

It’s all about skiing deep and very steep…

The Chugach Range in Alaska is legendary for the thrilling nature of its terrain. The area first caught the public’s attention in the early 1990’s, when the World Extreme Skiing Championships were held near Valdez, on the southern coastline of Alaska.

Two of the competitors, Doug Coombes and Dean Cummings liked the place so much that they decided to set up their own heli ski Alaska operations, bringing the joys and challenges of steep skiing to a wider world.

For advanced-to-expert skiers Alaska is now firmly established as a major heli-ski destination. When you go heli skiing in Alaska you can expect to ski runs with a consistent pitch of 35 to 45 degrees – and it’s entirely possible to ski runs of over 50 degrees!
