New Alagna 3030 lift opens in Monterosa

Posted December 19, 2017 under Heliskiing, Italy

The new Alagna 3030 lift officially opened yesterday with the ribbon cut by the Mayor of Piedmont, Sergio Chiamparino.

The new four-man detachable chairlift links Cimalegna (2650m) to the Passo dei Salati (3030m). It is 1800m long, has 80 chairs and a maximum carrying capacity of 1600 skiers per hour.

Improved connections to the Monterosa Ski Freeride Paradise

The new lift will improve the connection from Alagna to Passo dei Salati and improve the access to the huge Monterosa Ski area.

The development is the result of a meticulous plan by the Monterosa 2000 lift company, working closely with the towns of Alagna and Riva Valdobbia, to ensure a better service for skiers and snowboarders, without compromising the impact on the environment.

Next on the list for Alagna and Monterosa 2000 is a new chairlift to connect Grande Halte with the Bocchetta delle Pisse.

Excellent early season snow

The Monterosa Ski Freeride Paradise is a superb ski area with connections now better than ever. Early season snow in Alagna has been excellent.
